Job Summary

US Value and Access (US V&A) has embarked on a transformation initiative to create a singular services platform to better serve patients and health care professionals. Amgen has partnered with SalesForce.com, Deloitte Digital, patient service providers, and other technology vendors to develop a world-class Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The CRM platform (Pulse) has been deployed supporting one Amgen Product and implementation activities for the next set of Products are in progress.

As a member of the US Value & Access team, the Data Manager is responsible for the data aspects of the access and reimbursement patient/HCP services, and for providing valued consultation to the business regarding data flows, reporting and analytics. Amgen is seeking a self-starting, quick learning, organized problem solver to understand and translate the business needs from a data perspective in the context of the Pulse user groups.

This role provides the opportunity to work holistically across products and services, while developing an in-depth understanding of the access and reimbursement-related business processes.

This position is based at our corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA and may require up to 25% domestic travel.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Understand the business domain (Hub Reimbursement, Field Reimbursement, Nurse Support, Patient Support Call Center - for all Amgen Products)
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Pulse Service data elements
  • Translate the business workflows into data fields
  • Document data lifecycle through the business process flows
  • Document data integration workflows - inbound and outbound
  • Monitor Pulse Service data quality and assess gaps
  • Provide feedback to the Service Leads on data opportunities
  • Recommend systems updates to address data opportunities in Pulse
  • Work with the Data Management and Aggregation teams including Patient, Payer and HCO/HCP Mastering teams to improve data quality
  • Collaborate with the business to develop data quality and monitoring reports
  • Collaborate with the business to develop operational reports in Amgen Pulse CRM, Field reporting tools and analytical reports to meet the business needs
  • Provide guidance to data aggregation and reporting/analytics teams on data process flows
  • Assess impact of change on existing business data e.g. Data mastering elements update and its impact on Pulse Service
  • Participate in discussions with the Service Leads on key indicators and effectiveness of Service Providers delivery
  • Identify and leverage appropriate data sources to improve the data quality and service delivery
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Amgen legal, regulatory, privacy and compliance standards


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or Operations experience OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or Operations experience OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or Operations experience OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and interest in the value of data and methods to improve data quality through business process enabled through system features
  • Data and Analytics experience - data tools including Tableau, Workbench, Microsoft Excel skills
  • Call Center / Service delivery experience a plus
  • Project management experience preferred - ability to track complex projects and bring tasks to completion on time and within budget
  • Salesforce application experience with a focus on building reports and performing analysis
  • Process management experience - the ability to document processes and improve them to eliminate waste
  • Communication skills - strong spoken and written communication skills to translate Amgen business flows
