Amgen is seeking an experienced professional to work in Thousand Oaks, CA or Tampa, FL as an IS Product Owner for our Regulatory Information Management (RIM) offering, continuing a large-scale transformation program. The successful individual will play a lead role in Amgen's RIM product team.

We are seeking a strong software Product Owner to work with our team to deliver the best software solutions to our innovative and industry-leading business partners in Amgen's Regulatory Affairs function.

This position is responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the work generated by the RIM product team to ensure outstanding features and functionality of the product. You will partner closely with all internal and external clients and attend strategic multi-functional meetings to facilitate the optimization of processes through implementation of solutions that enable enterprise-wide RIM capabilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Take lead of the RIM product/scrum teams as the Product Owner
  • Providing vision and direction to the development team and partners throughout the project and create requirements
  • Oversee and prioritize budget and team resources
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities
  • Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize stories and epics to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy and maximize return on investment
  • Provide backlog management and iteration planning
  • Lead the planning of product releases and set expectation for delivery of new functionality
  • Keep abreast of Agile/Scrum practices and new trends
Required Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of directly related experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of directly related experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of directly related experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of directly related experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner or Service Owner
  • A deep understanding of RIM processes, incl. authoring
  • MA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field with a minimum of 5 years practical experience
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, implementing and supporting COTS Regulated Document Management applications in the life sciences industry
  • Experience and/or understanding of private and multi-tenant cloud deployments and enterprise integrations
  • Knowledge of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry and current approaches to GxP computer related systems
  • Ability to navigate, facilitate and work within a complex matrix organization
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
