Our Integrated Data and Analytics (iDNA) team is seeking a Reporting and Analytics Lead (Specialist IS Systems Analyst) who will be focused on US data and help provide state of art data solutions to our business. The position is based in Amgen's main headquarters at Thousand Oaks, CA. You will be part of Global Commercial Operations (GCOIS) division and will be responsible for establishing and advancing Amgen's reporting and analytics services via the iDNA's data solutions and ensure proper integration of data assets in US commercial cross-systems and processes. This position is responsible for partnering with various commercial areas (such as sales, marketing, data science) to ensure data, reporting and analytics continues to serve as a key component to enabling Amgen to understand our customers, our products, our business and the dynamics of the landscape we compete in day in and day out.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, architect and enhance the US Commercial VISION reporting web platform, ensuring it meets the business need as well as meets service level objectives (availability, reliability, performance, etc.)
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, technology leads and represent the US Data, Reporting, and Analytics iDNA platform in cross-system discussions, being able to quickly understand and articulate impacts to iDNA as the business requirements change as well as ensuring the success of iDNA deliveries during recurring cross-system processes (such as quarterly/semesterly cutovers, goals processing, etc.)
  • Build and nurture expertise in the wide set of technologies required to execute a Data and Analytics Services including AWS (S3, EC2), High Performant Databases (AWS Redshift), Data Integration (Spark, Databricks), Orchestration (Airflow, Jenkins), and reporting platforms (Tableau)
  • Define technical requirements and implementation details for iDNA/Vision pipeline in user stories/epics
  • Understand iDNA code, standards, processes and dependencies, being able to influence the good design and development choices when implementing data and analytics services as well as troubleshoot issues/incidents as they arise
  • Promote the iDNA and VISION platform service capabilities and drive user adoption of the service


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems and/or Cloud experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems and/or Cloud experience
OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/or Cloud experience
OR

High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/or Cloud experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with designing, building and understanding data models, data integrations, and data engineering pipelines for processing enterprise-scale data.
  • Understand of SQL and experience of querying data using SQL (or related language) and the ability to performance tune queries.
  • Understanding of latest reporting technologies (in particular Tableau but also other emerging technologies)
  • Understanding of latest AWS technologies (S3, EC2, Integration tools, Hadoop, Redshift, Spectrum)
  • Experience using at least one scripting language like Python and repository/versioning tools such as GitHub
  • Working knowledge of Agile (Scrum) software development methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate strategies across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks and business impacts
  • Demonstrated high learning agility with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
  • Strong organizational, planning skills and demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across a matrixed organization
  • Ability to think strategically about technology, recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact
  • Knowledge of SDLC, CDCI, data governance and data quality
  • Certifications in Agile development methodologies
  • Healthcare Industry experience
