We are seeking a creative and self-motivated Scientist to join the Neuroscience group to support the development of novel therapeutics for neurological disorders. Successful candidate would work collaboratively and leverage Regeneron's expertise in innovative technologies to create in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo approaches for treating diseases of the nervous system. Initial projects will involve treatment for neurodegenerative disorders and/or pain, so expertise in at least one of these areas is required. Background in immunology highly desirable. The ability to motivate, develop, and supervise research associates is an important component of this position, therefore a history of successfully managing teams toward a goal is required. • Design and execute both cell-based and in vivo assays to support the characterization and evaluation of novel molecules for CNS and PNS applications.

• Drive the development of novel animal models, cell-based assays, or other novel technologies needed to innovate around technical or scientific obstacles.

• Identify and study potential novel biologies, mechanisms, modalities, and/or therapeutic targets using a wide range of approaches.

• Support technology development for improving the delivery of novel therapeutics to regions of interest in the nervous system.

• Design rigorous and appropriate experiments to address core questions, and rigorously analyze and evaluate resultant data.

• Present data both internally and externally, and productively participate in discussions in our collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

• Motivate, develop, and supervise research associates.


• Ph.D. + 6+ years of relevant experience

• Excellent publication record is highly desirable

• Ability to both work independently

• Managerial experience required

• Experience working with animal models of neurodegenerative and/or pain

• Broad knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, histology, aseptic cell culturing and in vitro assay development

• Primary culture of neural cells

• Experience with differentiation of ES or hIPCs highly desirable

• Experience with antisense oligonucleotides, siRNA and/or CRISPR technologies preferable
