Summary:
The Aging group is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat Age-Related Disorders through an enhanced understanding of Aging. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced research associate to join the Aging/Age-Related Disorders Group to support our discovery and development efforts pertaining to mechanisms of in vitro biological experiments necessary to develop cell-based models and assays for testing of experimental therapeutics and for mechanistic biology studies.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and perform in vitro assays; molecular biology expertise; cell culture work; transfection and production of new cell lines; design of CRISPR guides to produce new cell lines; immune precipitation and Western characterization of proteins; ELISA studies; molecular profiling including RNA production for RNA-seq.
• Primary cell and cell line experiments, including transfection and transduction
• Write protocols and study reports
Requirements:
This position requires a Minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience working in a lab. This experience must include:
• Cell biology
• Molecular biology
• Cloning; Western and RNA analysis... some background in aging or in age-related disorders would be helpful but not mandatory.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth in vitro technical expertise, be hardworking, flexible, innovative and able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team.
Level will be commensurate with experience.
