Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated Cell Biologist with a background in in vitro biology to join our discovery research team within the Biotherapeutic Enabling Biology group in Biotechnology Discovery Research. Are you passionate about applying your diverse skillset to the exploration of novel biology with a rationale-based and hypothesis-driven scientific approach? We are looking for engaged scientists who will help make an impact on the lives of patients we serve.
You will join a highly interactive, collaborative, and innovative scientific team to discover and advance large molecule drugs to combat disease in Immunology, Oncology, Neurodegeneration and Diabetes. You will design and execute in vitro cell-based and biochemical assays to discover novel therapeutic proteins and antibodies.
Desired Biology experience including, but not limited to, the following:
- Mammalian cell culture techniques and assay development to support novel target validation and therapeutic antibody screening and characterization
- Stable cell line generation, luciferase reporter assays, flow cytometry
- Quantitative PCR, ELISA, western blotting
- Familiarity with PBMC isolation and human primary immune cell assays
- Experience with automation of cell-based assays is preferred.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related discipline
- Prior experience working in a research laboratory
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Capable of independently planning and conducting experiments, generating data, interpreting results, and documentation
- Ability and motivation to read relevant scientific literature and apply learning to ongoing projects
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self management, task planning, and organization
- Able to work efficiently and to foster collaboration in an interdisciplinary team environment
- Knowledge and experience in large molecule platforms for early phase drug discovery
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience or MS degree in Cell/Molecular Biology or Immunology is preferred
