Marketing Director, Cardiovascular

The Marketing Director will be part of a marketing team supporting Amgen's innovative cardiovascular product, Repatha. In this role, the Director will have a significant impact on the trajectory of the brand as well as the lives of millions of high-risk cardiovascular patients with a high unmet need. The Director is responsible for evaluating, recommending and driving the implementation of strategic options to ensure the long-term commercial success of Repatha/Omecamtiv Mecarbil. The Director will partner with, and influence, others as part of the overall mission to put the patient in the center of our efforts and will understand that everything Amgen marketing does is aimed to support colleagues that are closest to our patients and customers.

o Regional marketing strategy

o Key Business Questions

o Continuous assessment of brand/tactical execution

o Consistency in execution - brand hallmarks and messaging

o Emerging channels and innovation

o P&L Management

o Advocacy & Value Based Partnerships

o Leadership talking points

o Efficiency Steward

o Team culture and communication

o Strategic leadership of Strat Planner deliverables

Key partnerships:

The Director will partner with the Amgen teams that are closest to our patient / customer, and influence others by putting our patient at the center of everything we do. Representative partnerships include:

o Working closely and in strong partnership with colleagues on the marketing team by adopting a true cross-functional approach

o Serving as the interface with internal cross-functional teams / expert functions: Amgen Digital Health, Customer Experience, Value Based Partnerships, Patient Centricity, Market Research, Development, Regulatory, Competitive Intelligence and Operations

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of marketing experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications

o 10+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience with strong management skills

o Demonstrated track record of strong commercial strategic planning and execution; successful

product launch experience

o Experience in a Strategic Regional or Global function

o Relevant therapeutic area experience (sales, marketing and/or payer experience)

o Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across the matrix

o Strong leadership skills, including ability to influence teams with diverse backgrounds

o Excellent written, analytical and verbal communication skills

o Demonstrated ability to analyze a business problem and develop an appropriate strategy

o Strong business judgment and emotional intelligence

o Act as a role model for others in line with Amgen values
