Amgen is using state of the art technology to build new drug therapies for patients that address grievous illnesses.

We are seeking an IS Engineer - Data Analytics in our Amgen Capability Center (ACC) Tampa, FL to join our Patient Safety IS team. The ideal candidate must be passionate about providing solutions for advanced analytics and data processing. You will collaborate with our Patient Safety business and product teams to define and build the reporting and data visualization solutions enabling faster and better-informed decision-making

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of key projects involving Business Intelligence technologies
  • Collaborate with Business Partners, Data Architects, Data Scientists and Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical requirements and understanding how data is being collected to help drive the analytics strategy supporting Safety
  • Author documentation including design specification, flowcharts and diagrams for BI solutions
  • Write SQL queries to manipulate and visualize data using data visualization tools
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and developments on Business Intelligence and related new technologies to provide recommendations for improvements
  • Estimates level of effort and hours entail for each phase of a project
  • Ensures projects work are completed on time and within budget
  • Delivers results in an environment consisting of diverse global and matrixed partners including non-dedicated resources

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master's degree

Or
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

Or
  • Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

Or
  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of relevant work or internship experience
  • Hands-on experience in architecting analytics and BI solutions using the following technologies - Tableau (preferred), Spotfire, IBM Cognos with the ability to identify data patterns
  • Good SQL skills of at least one RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience with Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence platforms and associated Extraction, Load and Design (e.g. Informatica, Data Bricks & Mulesoft)
  • Understanding of AWS/cloud storage, hosting, and compute environments is required
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and DevOps
  • Solid communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task on several projects simultaneously
  • Expertise in visualizing and manipulating big data sets
  • High learning agility, innovation and analytical skills
