Responsibilities
Lilly's Immuno-Oncology Research and Development Center of Excellence in New York City is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to contribute to the development of cancer therapeutics in the Cancer Immunobiology department. The successful candidate is expected to have a broad knowledge of cancer immunology with prior academic and/or industry experience and publications in the field
Your main responsibility is to lead a group that supports the research and development of novel immuno-oncology therapeutics, including antibodies and vaccines. Are you excited to contribute to both later stage programs as well as innovate and drive novel target IO discoveries? Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well independently and in a team setting are required in this role. Collaboration and teamwork are cornerstones of our research requiring you to work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to collaborate across functional areas.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the validation and development of novel cancer immunotherapeutic targets (e.g. T cell targets, neoantigens)
- Understand the mechanism of action of pipeline cancer therapeutics by developing and performing in vitro and in vivo models and assays
- Function as scientific team lead including leading and participating in project team meetings
- Mammalian cell culture: primary immune cell isolation/culture, transfections, stable clone generation, flow cytometry and immunophenotyping
- Cell based and immunological assays: proliferation, effector function, reporter assays, T cell activation, antigen-specific T cell isolation and characterization, T cell tumor killing
- Provide written and verbal communication of work, present data and data summaries internally and externally as needed
Basic Qualifications
- PhD Degree in Biological Sciences (ex. Immunology, Tumor Immunology, Cell Biology).
- Prior post-doctoral and/or industry research experience in the Immuno-Oncology setting highly preferred.

- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively and efficiently balance high throughput of various experiments while maintaining quality results
