Job Details
Amgen seeks a Manager, Transfer Pricing Operations, a position that reports to the Director of Transfer Pricing and participates in all aspects of running the company's worldwide transfer pricing function.
Amgen's transfer pricing function is a critical, SOX-controlled process and a key input to the company's tax rate calculation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic forecasts, monitor affiliate profit and establish transfer prices for intercompany transactions
- Prepare and review various transfer pricing studies, documentation and intercompany agreements relating to the company's U.S. and certain international regions
- Implement the company's transfer pricing policies and provide guidance to Treasury, Cost Accounting and other members of the Finance organization with respect to intercompany transactions
- Perform regular analytical analyses to anticipate and resolve issues and create efficiencies in the transfer pricing operations processes
- Update Transfer Pricing policies and procedures
- Provide support to (i) Tax Audit in connection with domestic and international tax controversy, (ii) Tax Planning in connection with transactions and special projects, and (iii) Tax Provision in connection tax rate calculations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 2 years of Transfer Pricing, Cost Accounting and/or Intercompany Accounting experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Transfer Pricing, Cost Accounting and/or Intercompany Accounting experience
OR
Associates degree and 10 years of Transfer Pricing, Cost Accounting and/or Intercompany Accounting experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Transfer Pricing, Cost Accounting and/or Intercompany Accounting experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance
- Advanced degree or CPA preferred
- At least 4 years of experience in Transfer Pricing and/or Cost Accounting from a Big Four Accounting firm, a specialty consulting firm and/or a multinational corporation
- Broad background in Transfer Pricing, including documentation studies and transfer pricing modeling
- Broad background in Accounting, including Cost Accounting and Intercompany Accounting
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (SAP, Hyperion, etc.) and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with pharmaceutical, biotech or high-tech industry is preferred
- Knowledge of U.S. taxation of international transactions is a plus
- Be an experienced and result-oriented tax professional who functions in a fast-paced environment with a minimum of guidance
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Possess excellent analytical, technology and communication skills
- Demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills
