Data and Analytics - Specialist Technical Product Analyst

Amgen is seeking an Information Systems - Specialist Product Analyst, who will work on our Enterprise Engineering and Analytics (EEA) team. The Specialist will report to the Senior Manager- Data and Analytics and will work out of our Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, FL.

The Information Systems - Specialist Product Analyst position provides a unique opportunity to work as part of a fun and innovative product focused engineering team that is responsible for big data analytics at Amgen. The product analyst would be will be responsible for aligning the engineering team with the business needs of the product strategy and play a key role in shaping of the platform and driving the adoption within the enterprise.

The ideal candidate would be passionate about data analytics and has experience in product development lifecycle. Candidate must be a self-starter, extremely customer focused, uncompromisingly detail oriented, and well organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Activities for the Product Analyst include:
  • Work as part of the platform product team and act as a voice of the customer to help shape roadmap of the product
  • Responsible for creating and communicating product promotion and product adoption material, and help users with adoption and training
  • Responsible for the quality of user stories as part of the backlog management and sprint planning, and create sprint demo materials etc.
  • Responsible for clear product/project communication to all stakeholders regarding scope, timelines, issues, revisions etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business stakeholders
  • Develop basic understanding of core business problems and identify opportunities to use advanced analytics
  • Work with product owner in enhancing current product capabilities and drive continuous improvement
  • Work with the Engineering team, to help shape and advance the data and analytics platform

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Information Systems experience

OR Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR High School Diploma /GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Agile Product Management Lifecycle and Agile Project Management tool(s)
  • Experience working as business analyst, in a technology team
  • Knowledge in statistical modeling, data engineering, predictive analytics or data science
  • Quantitative and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to translate data to meaningful conclusions and recommendations to business clients
  • Effectively communicate concepts, tools and techniques
  • Experience or Knowledge of Cloud technologies would be a plus
  • Experience or Knowledge of Data management technologies like Hadoop, Teradata or Oracle is a plus
  • Experience or Knowledge of Data Analytical technologies like Tableau or Spotfire is a plus
