Job Details
Our Undergraduate internship program is a significant source of full-time hires for the Finance organization and is highly ranked intern program within biotechnology and healthcare industries for undergrad interns. We provide our interns an opportunity to partner with Amgen's Finance leaders to experience our culture and industry firsthand. Summer interns will be assigned projects within a functional area e.g. Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Business Development, Strategy, Tax, and Corporate Audit where they will have a chance to enhance their finance skills, increase their understanding of Corporate Finance, discover new ways of thinking, and receive an introduction to biotechnology's role within Healthcare.
This internship will be approximately 10-13 weeks includes both project- based and experiential learning. Amgen provides a state-of-the-art workspace and promotes collaboration with senior leadership through a series of formal and informal events. Interns are encouraged to spend the summer participating in activities and networking with staff across the organization. In addition, interns will engage in a week-long cross-functional case study project that will expose them to different aspects our business operations. Successful completion of summer experience will enable the intern to be evaluated for a full-time position post graduation. Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
Must be 18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Enrolled in a full-time bachelor's program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited
college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Concentration in Economics, Business Administration,
Biotechnology Management, Accounting or Finance
Graduation in either December 2020 or Summer 2021
Able to demonstrate an understanding of basic financial analytical principles
Prior work experience
3.3 GPA and above
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective communication and organizational skills
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
Ability to multi-task and stay focused on priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
Must be a strong teammate who is able to collaborate with colleagues on complex assignments
Prior work experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
