Amgen is seeking an experienced MuleSoft Integration Engineer to join the multi-site Research & Development Informatics organization. The ideal engineer will have a passion for developing and maintaining robust integration for On-Prim and Cloud applications to support critical business functions.

The individual will report to the Senior Manager of Development IS and will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

Development IS team supports Clinical Trial Design and Management and Clinical Data Management globally with innovative IS solutions to accelerate and grow Amgen's pipeline of bio pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and document MuleSoft integrations to requirements following standards and processes
  • Develop integrations and APIs using enterprise integration patterns and frameworks
  • Follow Microservice design patterns
  • Develop HTTP APIs, RESTful web services and programming skills using J2EE design patterns, JMS, and SOAP/REST web services
  • Contribute in a collaborative and fast paced environment
  • Work within an agile project management structure
  • Work in a highly regulated environment
  • Understand integration technologies and practices as well as the business acumen to develop overarching system designs


Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

Or

Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualification:
  • Ability to work in a changing environment, under pressure, handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills to work across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and ability to use constraints as opportunities
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup principles
  • Experience in application design using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JAX-RS, Jersey, Eclipse, .Net, and Visual Studio
  • Experience with MuleSoft - ESB Enterprise Edition, DataWeave and API Management
  • Experience on MuleSoft API Management and Anypoint Cloudhub Platform.
  • Proficiency in designing Mule components (Mule ESB, Anypoint Studio, ETLs, flows, MEL, message modelling, Routing, Filtering, Database, Exception Handling, API Management)
  • Understanding and experience of Java Messaging Services (JMS), MQ (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, IBMMQ)
  • Understanding of and ability to invoke web services - REST (with RAML or JSON/XML), ODATA, SOAP (with WSDL)
  • Experience of database access protocols such as ODBC, JDBC, SQL
  • Security - as a user of LDAP, Active Directory, OAuth2 (Okta) and SAML
  • Experience with software engineering best practices including, but not limited to version control (Git, TFS, Subversion etc.), CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven etc.), automated unit testing, and DevOps
