We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Director, Technical Operations Program Management to work in this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy. This individual will work closely with Technical Operations (Tech Ops) and other Kite functions to ensure clarity of strategy, manage specific cell therapy projects and programs, and facilitate communication across all parties.

Responsibilities (include but limited to):
  • Provide leadership and direction for Tech Ops program management of cross-functional and high-impacting program and projects
  • Develop and manage a team of program managers and project managers supporting Tech Ops transformational projects and programs
  • Oversee program portfolio, set priorities, create logical work plans, and communicate progress of Tech Ops program and relevant cross-functional / cross-product projects
  • Develop communications and presentations related to program strategy, status, critical path activity timing, resources required, and related issues and / or risks, and communicate internally and to external partners as appropriate
  • Ensures delivery of high quality integrated cross functional project and program plans, effective management of program activities, and control of Tech Ops transformational program timelines
  • Develop and maintain tools for internal and external communication about program goals and progress (program dashboards etc.)
  • Set clear, consistent and challenging expectations that are aligned with the company, department, and program objectives
  • Partner with key stakeholders to champion continuous improvement, new ideas, and initiatives that drive Tech Ops programs
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • At least 12+ years of relevant experience and a BS in science or; 10+ years of relevant experience and a MS. MBA or PhD a plus.
  • At least 8 years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in program or program management with a strong understanding of drug development Minimum of 2-4 years of people management experience
  • Project Management certification or equivalent is a plus
  • Knowledgeable with cGMP manufacturing as well as regulatory regulations and requirements for pharmaceuticals and devices
  • Able to express ideas and present information effectively within teams, functions, and with external partners
  • Ability to think critically with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate active listening and constructive feedback within team, ability to facilitate problem solving, decision making, and issue resolution
  • Demonstrated analytical and technology skills, including proficiency in project planning tools, content management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong program management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly fluidic company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
