We have an exciting opportunity on our Medical Affairs team: a Director, Medical Affairs|US Oncology and Cell Therapy. This role will be office-based and can reside in either Foster City, CA, or in Santa Monica, CA.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Provides local medical expertise input into Product Development for Oncology and Cell Therapy.
  • Represents the company to groups of experts including medical professionals and societies at scientific meetings.
  • Provides strategic direction and vision, and represents the Medical Affairs function on Project Teams.
  • Contributes to the development of the US medical affairs strategy, as well as the market access strategy in coordination with the Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs and HEOR teams.
  • Develops and leads plans with national cooperative groups to define data gaps and potential requirements/needs.
  • Supports the development of complex clinical data through clinical trials, real world evidence generation and investigator studies.
  • Regularly communicates with the external medical community to remain abreast of issues in the field and to provide medical support and direction to them.
  • Collaborates appropriately with project management, biostatistics, clinical and commercial teams in multiple areas including annual strategic and tactical planning, internal training initiatives, publication planning, speaker education programs, regional consultant meetings, advisory board planning and execution, ISR/ERP programs, MS resource development, and conference preparation.
  • Works directly with the Executive Director on early development of a variety of projects, provides independent thought and initiative in the further development of specific projects and ensuing presentations and reports.
  • Attends most major conferences and helps coordinate medical affairs activities at conferences and may present to internal and external audiences.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of projects that will provide more extensive background, additional data or answers to questions in response to issues that arise relative to commercial, scientific or medical information needs.
  • Manages projects to completion, anticipating obstacles and difficulties that may arise, resolving them in a collaborative manner.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have an MD, PhD or PharmD with significant clinical and research experience in the key therapeutic areas.
  • 8+ years of industry experience is essential, ideally including recent experience with a successful launch within Oncology or Cell Therapy.
  • 12+ years of experience in a scientific setting and a cross collaboration role
  • Must have demonstrated strategic and tactical planning and plan execution skills, including organization, prioritization and resource management.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent judgment, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess superior interpersonal skills and an ability to influence people who are not direct reports.
  • Strong presentation skills are also required.
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international conferences which will include occasional weekend travel is required.
