Job Summary

The Business Performance Senior Manager will support ATO B7 drug substance plant manufacturing operations and will report to the Plant Manager. This individual will work closely with the plant leadership team and serve as a key interface with the broader site and global manufacturing network as well as support functions including Quality, Process Development, Supply Chain, Finance and Facilities and Engineering. The successful candidate will take an active role in advancing plant goals and business performance, KPIs, governance and metrics cascades and strategic initiatives to deliver for patients.

The job responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Team Leadership - Drive effective leadership team operations, including plant governance management, strategy and goal-setting sessions and business performance reviews. Manage financial plans, including headcount analysis and resource plans.
  • Portfolio and Project Management - Develop and sustain plant portfolio and ensure ongoing prioritization discussions and reviews occur to drive focus and delivery of highest value efforts. Maintain a master project plan and schedule for assigned projects. Collaborate with partners to align on prioritization and translate team plans into actionable and measurable tasks.
  • Safety and Compliance - Manage plant safety program in collaboration with EHSS partners. Utilize strong working knowledge of cGMP and drug substance biologics processes along with knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements to support plant inspection-readiness.
  • Risk Management and Business Continuity - Maintain ATO B7 plant risk strategy and business continuity plans. Facilitate team-level risk assessments and scenario planning to support issue resolution. Proactively drive development of contingency and/or risk-mitigation plans.
  • Continuous Improvement - Support industrial engineering and Operational Excellence capabilities to the critical areas in the value chain in need of productivity improvement (e.g. lean transformation, run rate increase projects).
  • Communications Leadership - Develop materials, including business cases, and communicate analysis and recommendations to senior management. Perform business and resource forecasting, financial modeling, and trend analysis to drive decisions.
  • Build Relationships - Cross silos and break barriers to influence across organizational and/or geographic boundaries to achieve highly efficient and reliable business performance


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

OR

Associate degree and 10 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

AND

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry operations
  • 5+ years of cross-functional consulting or project management experience
  • Strong presence with senior executives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and prepare executive-level decision documents
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Spotfire, and Smartsheets
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles
  • Experience as a member of a high performing team
