Job Details

The Maintenance Technician provides facilities and maintenance support for all office, lab and GMP environments within Precision BioSciences. The role of the Maintenance Technician is to execute corrective and preventative maintenance (PM) of building systems, equipment, and utility infrastructure and respond to emergency maintenance issues. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Associate Director, Facilities and work closely with IT, Laboratory support and Facilities to help ensure smooth operations.

  • Support the operation and maintenance of facility operations with an emphasis on driving efficiency, reliability and consistency in functions and processes at the companys three sites
  • Help maintain and trouble shoot all new and existing utilities equipment and site electrical infrastructure for laboratories, administration and GMP buildings
  • Work with utility suppliers/contractors to ensure that all maintenance work is completed and documented in accordance with the contract, regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures for the sites utilities
  • Assist with scheduling and performing planned and unplanned maintenance activities for all sites, including the GMP operations facility
  • Document all maintenance activities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and company requirements
  • Liaise with all departments concerning maintenance matters including implementation of project management needs
  • Stay current with emerging facilities technologies and practices and champion opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, performance and/or cost structure
  • Must be able to work limited weekends and be on call 24/7/365

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Education/ Experience
  • AAS in Engineering or Maintenance Services Management or similar education from accredited university, Community College or equivalent knowledge and work experience
  • 5-8 years of facilities and/or utilities experience in a laboratory and facility environment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing contractors and vendors per approved service contracts
  • Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance and operation of mission critical infrastructure and utilities systems experience
  • Knowledge of industry standards /practices in the Facilities Maintenance arena; extensive experience and knowledge of building maintenance and repairs, and crafts including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, fire/life safety systems, general maintenance and labor, etc.
  • Experience with planning/scheduling and equipment controls methodologies
  • Industry Designation/Certification (i.e.: BCM, CEM, CPM, FMA, RPA) or like certification preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PPT)
