The Commercial Insights Senior Manager, Solid Tumors will lead insights generation activities using primary market research (qualitative and quantitative), data analytics, and any other emerging methodologies. This position will work directly with disease area, strategy and knowledge (DASK) and early pipeline teams with multiple assets across Amgen's Oncology Business Unit (OBU). This critical role will report directly to the Director for Commercial Insights, Solid Tumors.

Key job responsibilities include:
  • Plan, design and conduct key strategic and highly complex market research programs and translate the findings into strategic and tactical recommendations that help drive success across DASKs and key pipeline programs
  • Synthesize and integrate various data, research and analyses into actionable insights while ensuring that analyses and summaries of results are shared in the form of compelling stories that deepen customer understanding
  • Prioritize research resources to impact critical business issues and decisions
  • Develop and nurture productive relationships with DASKs and US/Global OBU cross-functional marketing team to appropriately define the business problems/business questions
  • Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverables
  • Develop strong relationships with Marketing/Brand partners to define measurement of key business objectives (BOs), budgets and work plans
  • Consider alternative methodologies to collect the voice of customer, being open to emerging innovative methods without immediately jumping to standard methods
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with best-in-class insights vendors
  • Ensure that both routine and ad-hoc projects are in compliance with all Amgen SOPs and meet service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, and budget
  • Some travel required


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of market research and/or analytics experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of market research and/or analytics experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of market research and/or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated exceptional strategic / critical thinking abilities and business acumen
  • Demonstrated analytical skills-understands the advantages and limits of different analytical/quantitative approaches
  • Oncology therapeutic area / disease knowledge and experience
  • Familiarity with launch and pre-launch planning, tracking and measurement in Oncology
  • Good understanding of biopharmaceutical marketing and direct to HCP strategies and tactics
  • Good understanding of all consumers: payers, patients, and HCPs
  • Strong understanding that physicians are, at their core, people first
  • Demonstrated ability to dig deep and the uncover the "why" beneath observed HCP behaviors
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
  • Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Familiarity with search analytic and CRM metrics
