Reporting to the Director of Gastro Global Marketing and the Global Gastro Brand Team Lead, this position supports the development and execution of the marketing strategies and tactics at the Global, Areas, and Country-Affiliate level. Collaborates and engages with a cross functional team, which includes (but not limited to): market access, medical affairs, finance, regulatory, legal, supply operations, health economics, clinical development, R&D, public affairs, medical review, patient relations, strategic health initiatives, business insights, OEC, and sales training.

This position will be located in AbbVie One (area of Chicago)

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Generating marketing insights that inform strategic and tactical plans
  • Creating or identifying commercial opportunities that advance efforts towards the brand objectives and goal
  • Developing marketing tools/resources, especially multichannel marketing initiatives to optimize impact and advancing them efficiently through the formal approval process
  • Support affiliates in management of mature lifecycle of our main product in immunology to maximize their efficiency through innovative and impactful strategies & tactics
  • Managing budgets and maximizing limited resources
  • Contribute to AbbVie's leadership position in Gastroenterology and transition to new assets
  • Engaging with External Experts to maximize partnership and AbbVie's leadership in Gastroenterology
  • Project management & working with vendors and other agencies


Basic Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of pharmaceutical marketing
  • Competency of the current medical and regulatory approval process
  • Proven track record of effectively working in cross-functional teams and matrix environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Able and willing to travel internationally


Preferred Experience (in addition to Basic):

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Global and Affiliate/Country experience
  • Sales, Market Access, or other relevant experience that complements Marketing role
