Amgen is seeking a Desktop IS Architect - Windows 10/MacOS Management to join End User Technology Operations and play an integral role the delivery of long-term end user software architecture and management, inclusive of PC, Mac and mobile devices. The position will be primarily focused on endpoint systems architecture and design regarding modern management of Windows 10 and MacOS from operating system deployment to configuration and enforcement of policy through SCCM, Workspace One or Intune.

The IS Architect will report to the DWX Operations Lead, based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

Information Systems (IS), Digital Workplace Experience (DWX) team is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and life cycle of Amgen's device and software management technologies. The team consists of cross-disciplinary IS professionals who understand how to deliver services that span both infrastructure and applications.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for the delivery of desktop management best practices, developing and delivering agile methodologies for windows desktop and device management, Mac provisioning, overall software distribution and support

Interact with end users from all aspects of Amgen's business to ensure that business use cases are well understood and documented

Support technology roadmap development and planning for core infrastructure services from Microsoft, VMWare, Amazon, 1E, Avecto, Flexera, and others

Provide architecture and engineering expertise for Microsoft SCCM, AirWatch, Desktop GPOs, and Electronic Software Delivery

Optimize disparate processes among Desktop Management, Mobile Management, and Virtual Desktops to streamline a single Unified Endpoint Management Program

Ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company's overall objectives, and that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the company's mission and vision

Manage the desktop engineering teams and partner with domain architects to deliver EUT systems

Provide ongoing transformation of desktop imaging, Mac support, into agile device rationalized enterprise service

Interact with manufactures and vendors to understand device and service offerings, and product limitations

Provide quantitative feedback and testing on new desktop management opportunities in the market place

Travel: International and Domestic travel up to 20% may be essential

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR
Master's degree and 3 years Information Systems experience

OR
Bachelor's degree and 5 years Information Systems experience

OR
Associate's degree and 10 years Information Systems experience

OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise in architecture and design of enterprise desktop deployments and processes especially for Windows 10.

Ability to lead clients through detailed assessment and design processes for desktop and related infrastructure deployments.

5+ years managing and maintaining SCCM infrastructure and related systems management processes including OSD, software deployments, configuration baseline implementation

Experience with Windows 10 semi-annual servicing and updates, Enterprise features including security, BitLocker, Conditional Access, etc.

Experience with automated deployment methodologies (e.g., ZTI/LTI and AutoPilot) and application packaging / distribution

Experience with Windows 10 analytics - Desktop Analytics, Upgrade Readiness, Telemetry, etc.

Enterprise deployment of Office 365 ProPlus including compatibility readiness and coexistence

Experience with SCCM, LANDesk, Altiris including assessment, design, pilot upgrades/implementations

Knowledge of application virtualization solutions such as Microsoft Application Virtualization (SoftGrid/App-V), ThinApp and Symantec Virtualization.

Proficiency with scripting languages, multiple packaging / deployment applications, and distribution methods

Experience with assessment tools such as Microsoft MAP

Experience with MS application compatibility toolkit (ACT 5) and similar, Windows Desktop tools such as AppDNA and/or ChangeBase, Windows 10 Image Design and Deployment, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Task Sequencing, Hardware Driver injections, Language packs

Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript and/or Python), multiple packaging/ deployment applications, and distribution methods

Experience leading small to mid-sized projects

Experience in managing enterprises with more than 50,000 devices
