AbbVie US Commercial Organization is looking for Associate Business Systems Consultant to be part of the DevOps and Technology Services team to lead the development, delivery and operations of Web and Mobile solutions for internal and external stakeholder systems for US Patient Services. This position will report to Brand Technology Lead for DevOps Services, and will work with Patient Outreach, Patient Services Marketing and Tele-Experience functional areas of patient services.

This position is responsible to manage the client and BTS relationship, resolving any issues that may arise; Provide expert advice on design, justification, implementation and business use of web/mobile applications; Analyze business processes; elicit, analyze, and document business requirements; identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and make recommendations typically seeking to leverage new or existing technology components. Translate business requirements into functional requirements; groom and validate requirements and collaborate with development and testing leads and resources. Create and drive project timelines. Manage system training, and coordinate with operations Teams on deployment, system performance and production issue resolution.


  • This position is responsible for planning and overseeing a portfolio of technology projects from ideation to completion; including securing cross-functional alignment on project scope, benefits, cost, and timeline. He/she is expected to work effectively across various IT shared services teams, external Marketing Agencies, and other Commercial business stakeholders.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects for the Brand; providing visibility to business and technology leadership on the status, benefits, costs, and risks of new requests and in-process projects.
  • Develop comprehensive project estimates and timelines by soliciting input and collecting feedback from all impacted stakeholders. Work across IT and business functions to negotiate and secure the availability of resources to meet the demands of the Brand. Supervise a matrix team of Project Managers, Architects, Business Systems Analysts, and Programmers to deliver technology projects for the assigned Brand.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures.
  • Work with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships are monitored through periodic reviews.
  • Lead the team that develops web and mobile applications for patient services using technologies including but not limited to Microsoft .NET Framework, ASP.NET Web API, ASP.NET MVC, C#, WCF, iOS, and Android.
  • Maintains hands-on technical expertise by making technical contributions to the software development and QA processes
  • Lead, and Manage large development team and provide them the necessary support to the team members to ensure that each application meets the functional and quality requirements of our business. Meets regularly with members of the development teams to get feedback on any areas for improvement
  • Work with Business Relationship Managers to understand the business requirements and deliver IT solutions to enable the business needs.
  • Implement the DevOps process to improve developer productivity, and reduce time to market
  • Take accountability to deliver multiple applications in parallel and accurately report schedules and statuses; Manage and prioritize projects based on business needs.

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    Minimum of 7 to 10 years of work experience including business analysis, project management, portfolio management, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to building trust, listen, and ask effective questions.
  • Innovative thinking and the ability to leverage past experience to be successful in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Interest in technology trends and application of technology to improve end user's experience.
  • Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability to self-manage time and priorities.
  • Strong understanding of the software development cycle and experience with Agile delivery
  • Strong leadership, project management skills, budgeting, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Broad knowledge of Information Technology Systems, with strong understanding of the relationship between business processes, applications, databases, operating systems, processing platforms, storage platforms, security systems and networks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
