Job Summary:

Amgen is seeking a Finance Manager who will play a key role in Cost of Sales Financial Planning, and Analysis for the Operations Organization.

The role will provide financial and analytical support to Operations and Finance leadership in support of Amgen's worldwide Cost of Sales. Key areas of focus include analyzing and identifying financial drivers (i.e. Direct COGS, COGM, Gross Expenses, DIO) for COS and inventory from a global, regional or country perspective, including the impact of partnerships, acquisitions, in-licensing/out-licensing, manufacturing network changes, etc.

The role provides financial analysis to key Operations and Finance areas such as:
  • Forecast Inventory and DIO for the Budget, forecast, and LRP
  • Consolidate the Global Cost of Goods Manufactured and split data by Bulk and Fill/Finish
  • Provide support and insight to initiatives for inventory reduction and cash-flow management
  • Forecast Cost of Sales by region for the Budget, forecast, and LRP
  • Assist with the monthly accounting close process related to calculating actual Cost of Goods sold for the month
  • Provide key financial support and analysis on an ad-hoc basis to Operations clients such as Supply Chain


Key contacts and partners include: Corporate FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Global Operations teams, Supply Chain, Operations Strategic Planning, Commercial Manufacturing Sites, GCO FP&A, Partnership Finance, R&D FP&A, and Corporate Accounting.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 2 years of Finance experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Finance experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Finance experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or MBA
  • 4+ years of corporate level experience
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience
  • Relevant cost of sales planning experience
  • Proficient in enterprise planning and reporting tools such as Hyperion and SAP
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to take the initiative and work under a minimum supervision
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
