The Grants and Contracts Department at Gladstone helps scientists obtain and manage their grants and contracts. They provide internal and external financial reporting, work with investigators to develop a financial plan for projects, implement changes in employee effort and salary allocations, and ensure compliance with sponsor and organization policies. The Grants Department is currently looking for a Grants Assistant who will assist with department wide post-award compliance tasks. This position will report to the Director for Grants and Contracts.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: maintain the signature authority database; assist with subrecipient monitoring; routing of subrecipient documents; collecting and reviewing any needed IACUC and IRB approvals; assist department in maintaining records in accordance with the record retention policy; and assist with month end close. This position is an opportunity to learn more about the field of research administration. Experience in research administration is not required. A successful candidate will have attention to detail, be a self-starter and work with urgency.


Bachelor's Degree; Effective analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize. Proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Acrobat and FileMaker Pro. Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
