Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

General Position Summary/Purpose:

The Senior Manager, FP&A serves a critical role within the Financial Planning & Analysis group, providing business insight and general budgeting support to the Commercial organization.This role, in partnership with our Alliance partner (Janssen Biotech, Inc.), is responsible for forecasting, reporting and providing business analysis support to business partners.The individual will collaborate with functional department leads to design, implement, and execute core planning & analysis processes with an emphasis on business partnering and customer service.Strong financial and business acumen in addition to broad knowledge of FP&A processes are essential to the success of this role. The individual will manage one individual as well as any additional contractors/FDP candidates.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the PCYC Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) and Joint Commercial Committee (JCC) on financial matters, including preparing & presenting financial results to senior leaders
  • Partner with Janssen Biotech, Inc. on accurate finance forecasting, informative alliance reporting and overall financial planning, including quarterly review of financial results
  • Coordinate planning efforts for the Strategic Long-range Plan "LRP" and prepare a detailed 5-year forecast inclusive of business expansions, product level indication P&L's, NPV analysis, and tactic specific ROI calculations
  • Cross functionally partner with Accounting, Procurement, and the Operational Excellence teams to continuously improve our processes and procedures, including implementation of SAP
  • Manage the annual budgeting/planning process as well as the regular expense forecasts for the Commercial organization
  • Manage a team of financial professionals that work with budget owners and functional heads to develop detailed monthly budgets
  • Collaborate with accounting team on the month-end close including the oversight of the monthly and quarterly accruals related to expenditures
  • Review contracts to ensure financial compliance requirements
  • Manage competing assignments and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate successfully
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and project support as required


Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • MBA/CPA preferred
  • 8+ years' experience in FP&A or similar function
  • Management experience
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills
  • Strong collaborative style of working with business partners and other functional groups
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and financial reporting tools - including pivot tables, vlookup, sumifs, formatting, and generating charts/graphs
  • Able to work under pressure and can act with a sense of urgency and understands the need for responsiveness
