We currently have an opportunity to grow your career in our AbbVie Bioresearch Center (ABC) Worcester, MA facility. In the role of Operations Training Supervisor, you will provide leadership, training and direction for the newly hired manufacturing technicians within the site, helping to serve a multi-shift operation, and building a culture of high performance in safety, quality and customer service.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize the on-boarding for all new operations technician hires on your shift and welcome new hires to AbbVie Bioresearch Center.
  • Develop weekly goals and schedules and set priorities for staff.
  • Review weekly production schedule and priorities to determine training assignments and critical actions.
  • Provide and assist in the development of on the floor training to support formalized technical and GMP training.
  • Ensure operator training files match and support the processes in the respective functions.
  • Monitor operator training files and work with compliance specialist to keep files up to date.
  • Work with QA and Subject Matter Expert (Tech Ops or Process Sciences) to resolve exceptions.
  • Review new Batch records and SOPs to ensure the team is employing current best practices.
  • Ensure that direct materials budgets and overtime budgets are met.
  • Provide supervision primarily to skilled nonexempt and junior level exempt employees for the first 4-6 weeks (approx) of their AbbVie career.
  • Ensure a smooth transfer of new hire staff to their future team. This includes setting up a continuous training plan with the new supervisor and training mentor.
  • Act as mentor/advisor to unit or sub-unit and become actively engaged.
  • Evaluate staff performance.

  • High School Diploma or GED (required): Bachelor's Degree or higher (highly preferred).
  • 8+ (BS) or 12+ (HSD/GED) years of experience, including work as an individual contributor building technical expertise, as well as progressively increasing responsibility and performance leader of diverse teams in operations/manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of safety, quality systems and cGMPs (required).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge with industrial automation (e.g.,distributed control and PLC-based systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge with equipment and facilities validation.
  • Computer proficiency and scheduling experience (required).
  • Excellent communication including written and verbal skills.
