We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Site Supply Chain Planning to support our new commercial cell therapy biotechnology facility in Frederick, MD as well as our Gaithersburg, MD facility which focuses on the development of novel T cell therapies targeting tumor mutations (neoantigens).

The Senior Manager, Site Supply Chain Planning is responsible for ensuring timely availability of all manufacturing and testing materials in both of these facilities to support brand new facility start up and transition to routine GMP production for clinical and commercial cell therapy product(s).

You will play a key role in ensuring production readiness from a materials perspective, including facility start up, process tech transfer and validation, routine supply, process changes, and issue resolution. TYou will execute the planning cycle using Kinaxis Rapid Response to maintain inventory policy, and place orders for assigned raw materials in Oracle EBS. You will also identify and lead planning process improvement opportunities at the site(s), and formulate strategies with the global planners to achieve a Class A performance planning team.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Overall voice and responsibility of Materials Planning at the manufacturing site(s)
  • Ensure overall availability of all manufacturing and testing materials at Frederick and Gaithersburg sites
  • Lead new materials readiness with Manufacturing, Quality, and Warehouse during facility and process start-up phase
  • Site planning and on-site coordination with Global Planning, Scheduling, and Warehouse for 'Global Materials' at the site
  • Planning and buying of locally-managed materials for site
  • Coordination with Warehouse teams and perform Kanban replenishment planning of materials to site warehouse
  • Single point of contact for site material matters to Global planners
  • Represent Materials Planning in site meetings impacting materials (process changes, quality issues, projects, etc)
  • Lead site implementation of site and global changes impacting materials
  • Lead resolution and mitigation plans of materials issues at the site; call out and coordinate with Global planner if required and advise in network mitigation plans
  • Site materials impact assessment in change controls
  • Own/handle site deviations/ change controls for raw materials
  • Execute Site inventory strategy for locally managed Materials
  • Lead Site OE initiatives related to materials
  • Ambassador of material planning to site project teams, reinforcing the importance of effective planning to support process improvements and changes.
  • Approve site material scrap requests
  • Lead site GMP material readiness from site leadership perspective with Global Planners
  • Run BOMs and sourcing lanes in EBS
  • Resolve receiving-related payment issues
  • Perform scenario planning and formulate material risk mitigation strategies
  • Measure, trend and report supply related critical metrics as a basis to drive continuous improvement
  • Present updates of materials status and risk to site teams and site leadership.
  • Build and lead a team to support the scale-up of the site(s)
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Master's Degree and 7 years of operations or supply chain experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of operations or supply chain experience OR Associate's degree and 12 years of operations or supply chain experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using ERP/MRP system and preferably at least minimum 1 year of Kinaxis RapidResponse
  • Possess excellent organization and interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate concisely and in a timely manner to clients' requests
  • Led multiple cross functional projects
  • Presented to the Sr Leadership teams regularly
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Outside of the box thinker to develop creative, practical, and compliant solutions to meet fast paced timelines
  • Experience with Change Control Management, Deviations and CAPA Systems
  • Proficient with advanced supply chain concepts
  • Experience with industry regulations, GMP, compliance and pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology processes
  • Autonomous and works under minimal direction
  • Possesses sound judgment and develops clarity and options in ambiguous and rapidly changing situations
  • Must have raw material, planning, ERP and supply chain experience in pharmaceutical setting
  • Thrives in a start up, fast-paced environment with a "can-do" attitude


Location:
  • Role will be primarily based out of Kite's Frederick facility but will also require weekly presence at the Gaithersburg location
  • Role will require ~3 months initial training and integration with the Global Planning team at Kite's Santa Monica office


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Material, Production, Planning Master data and Quality Management and Inspection plan experience in Oracle E Business Suite
  • APICS certification and/or relevant course work
  • Experience managing staff and developing a high performing team
