We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the allogeneic cell therapy group as an Associate Scientist. You will work with the research team in supporting our efforts in this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy. Under minimal supervision, the successful candidate will be expected to perform experiments, organize and analyze results and communicate and present findings in team meetings. You will also be asked to perform other duties as required. In this role you will report to a Senior Scientist II.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to innovate and advance the development of allogeneic T cell therapy products
  • Execute and document experiments to generate and characterize genetically modify human effector cells using in vitro functional assays, and help design in vivo tumor models evaluating strategies to improve efficacy of cellular therapeutics
  • Present data to project group and larger multidisciplinary teams
  • Execute research timelines to meet program and corporate objectives
  • Other duties as needed


Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in biology-related field with at least 6+ years of related experience in the field of immunology/immunotherapy/cancer biology/molecular biology; or Master's degree with 4+ years of related industry experience in a lab environment
  • Excellent mammalian cell/tissue culture and sterile technique required
  • Experience with multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis (FACSDiva, FlowJo) required
  • Direct experience with isolation, stimulation and in vitro expansion of primary T cells
  • Direct experience with T-cell functional characterization assays including in vitro cytotoxicity, proliferation, and cytokine/chemokine measurements
  • Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques is desired, including:PCR, restriction digestion & cloning, primer design, plasmid isolation and analysis, bacterial transformation and screening, extraction of genomic DNA, DNA sequencing and analysis, and proficiency with accompanying data analysis software.
  • Familiarity and experience with siRNA, shRNA, genome editing is a plus
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced research environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
