The Senior Financial Analyst - Capital and Project Expense provides key financial support and business analytics to AbbVie Operations Engineering which is responsible for AbbVie Operation's Capital Plan and Project Expense.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepares Annual Capital and Project Expense Plan, Long Range Capital Plan and LBE's as required, including Profit &Loss, headcount, and limited balance sheet schedules. Incorporates and tracks review changes of both financial and operating management.
  • Interacts with all levels of management including Ops VPs, Directors, and Managers, Ops FP&A, and Accounting COE.
  • Organizes and hosts a monthly LBE review meeting with Engineering management and the Program Management leaders.
  • Prepares variance analysis for each planning cycle and management reporting schedules under direction of the Manager.
  • Works directly with MES Financial and Abbvie Ops Finance on monthly close and financial reporting processes to ensure complete, accurate and timely monthly actual results, including variance analysis and commentary for P&L, headcount and balance sheet.
  • Understands monthly results and communicates issues vs. benchmark to Manager to agree on resolution or action plan.
  • Provides financial reviews and approvals (purchase order requests and invoices).
  • Performs ad hoc analysis and forecasts for internal management team and external customers as requested.
  • This position supports and communicates with all levels of business and financial management on an on-going basis and is responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Functional Policies and procedures.
  • Serve as collaborative business partner to the supported areas and help to identify and drive process development and improvements within the organization.
  • Oversees and conducts training to team members and project engineers as needed.


Basic:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive and related experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Execute priorities established by Manager with speed and agility.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient Excel skills required.
  • Strong set of analytical skills; high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet tight timelines and balance workload/multiple projects.
  • Build effective relationships with peers and cross functionally with business partners to enable higher performance.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP, HFM and TM1.
