Responsible for providing top down strategic direction for IT solution architectures in support of maximizing reuse and interoperability across affiliate led solution delivery projects, and aligning projects with overall enterprise architecture initiatives. Work with global affiliate IT groups to guide/align comprehensive architectures with a specific focus on cloud solutions, process automation, system integration, and maximizing reuse of IT assets. Work across affiliate IT groups to ensure alignment with established standards. Act as the liaison between affiliate IT groups and the Architecture Review Board. Participant as a member of the Enterprise Solution Architect team to serve and align solution design initiatives. Anticipates IT and industry future directions and relates trends and best practices to future solution architecture requirements and projects. May be called upon to provide any level of solution architecture guidance for single or multiple projects.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Develop enterprise wide reference architectures that guides the alignment of solution delivery projects
  • Stay abreast of, and evaluate, emerging IT technologies
  • Develop and publish technology standards, such as integration pattern/technologies, process automation solutions, and Low Code / No Code frameworks / templates
  • Review customer's architecture strategy to ensure adequacy; ensure the architecture supports the requirements of the business process / objectives
  • Monitor regulatory guidelines/laws and emerging industry standards to determine impact on the enterprise solution architectures and technology strategic directions
  • Provide strategic perspective and alignment, lead governance efforts and architecture reviews, and contribute to evolving relevant methodologies
  • Participates in defining business case of investments in IT
  • International travel required (10%)


Education / Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree, with least 10 years' experience in a variety of IT roles including solution architecture, application development, and data management; Degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing and implementing SalesForce.Com (SFDC) solutions. Should be able to clearly articulate Business functionality and how it can be mapped to SFDC out of the box, and potential places for customization; SalesForce.com certification highly desired.
  • At least 3 years of experience in implementing solutions based upon integration technologies (e.g. Tibco BW, Apigee, Informatica PowerCenter)
  • At least 3 years of experience in implementing J2EE solutions and/or .Net solutions
  • At least 3 years of experience in implementing database solutions (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server)
  • At least 2 years of experience in implementing cloud solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Demonstrated success facilitating design workshops and influencing others
  • Knowledge and experience in developing solutions compliant with regulatory and legal requirements within the Pharmaceutical Industry is a plus
