Summary:

The highly interactive immunology team is seeking a highly motivated and organized R&D Specialist to perform experiments using in vitro and in vivo mouse model systems, as well as primary human cells. Additionally, they will be expected to incorporate novel methodologies based on protocols from the literature, seminars, and other scientists., analyze data and interpret the results of experiments within the context of research project goals, while working closely with Supervisor to prepare and deliver effective oral presentations and papers during internal and external meetings. Maintain state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and accurate and complete records.

Basic computer literacy and experience collecting and analyzing biological data on the computer is a necessity. Candidates will need to be highly organized, flexible and motivated.

Job Duties:
Perform experiments using in vitro and in vivo mouse model systems, as well as primary human cells.

Incorporate novel methodologies based on protocols from the literature, seminars, and other scientists., analyze data and interpret the results of experiments within the context of research project goals

Contribute to lab and equipment maintenance and order supplies/reagents to help create a safe, effective and efficient working environment and maintain accurate and complete records.

Requirements:

Masters Degree in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 3-7 years of relevant lab research experience; or Bachelor's Degree in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 7-10 years of relevant lab research experience.

Demonstrated hands-on experience experience conducting in vivo experiments using mouse models with training in the proper handling and care of mice, general surgical techniques, and the collection/processing of blood and tissue samples. Preferred experience in mouse models of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Demonstrated hands-on experience with cellular and molecular biology techniques including isolation and culture of cell lines and primary cells (immune cells of human and mouse origin), experience with multi-cellular assays highly desired, transfections, DNA/RNA/qRT-PCR, multi-color flow cytometry (multi-color), ELISA (MSD etc), Western blots, functional assays (e.g. proliferation, cytokine production, etc.).

In vivo and ex vivo experience a must

Preferred experience analyzing biological data using GraphPad Prism, FACS DIVA software, FlowJo, SoftMax Pro, and Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) Discovery Workbench software.
