Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Specialist to join Regeneron's VelociGene group to support our program in developing CRISPR based therapeutics and other novel in vivo mouse delivery platforms. This individual is expected to develop, execute, and validate a broad array of in vivo based experimental delivery mechanisms of CRISPR reagents. The responsibilities for this position would include working with rodents (blood collection, animal handling, animal injections, necropsies) which will lead to validating phenotypic outcomes of CRISPR based gene modulation. In addition, the applicant should have solid understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and genetics and be able to perform Westerns, ELISAs, and IHCs and have the skills to develop techniques for delivery of reagents in vivo. The candidate must be able to correctly document the results, analyze the data and communicate the results clearly and concisely. The candidate is expected to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Requirements:This position requires a Bachelor's with at least 3 years of experience and/or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience. Additional requirements include:
- Ability to design and perform in vivo experiments in various mouse models (2-3 years experience a must)
- Experience with rodents (handling, dosing, blood and urine collection, tissue harvesting etc.)
- Surgical techniques or primary cell isolation are a plus
- Ability to perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence on various tissues. Microscopy and FACs analysis.
- Molecular benchwork abilities: DNA/RNA prep, Taqman, PCR, ELISAs, Westerns.
- Maintain clear record of work in a laboratory notebook, updated in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Present findings at group meetings, and format data for presentation to senior staff.
- Understanding the principles of molecular biology, genetics, and cell biology
- Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office and PRISM
