The Manager Labeling Operations, under the supervision of the Director, Supply Chain will ensure that inputs for Artwork creation are accurate, consistent and complete and provide leadership for collaboration with Regulatory, Supply Chain and the Global artwork team.

The Manager Labeling Operations will also support upcoming Artwork projects initiated by multiple stakeholders and will function as Artwork representative on cross-functional teams.

Specific responsibilities of the Manager Labeling Operations include:
  • Ensure accurate, consistent and complete inputs for Artwork creation
  • Leadership for cross-functional collaboration between Regulatory, Supply Chain and Artwork Centers with Artwork delivery
  • GMP compliant artwork processes
  • Identify and lead process improvements


Key Activities:

Principal responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:
  • Establish artwork delivery strategies for launches, variations and test artworks in collaboration with local RA, ROLs and SCPMs for JAPAC and LACAN regions
  • Facilitate consistency of branding packaging requirements, including formatting (exception is regulatory requirements)
  • Interact with local RA on input templates and Artwork standards
  • Work with local engineering, marketing, legal, packaging engineer, supply chain PM, supply chain team, ROL, quality
  • Coordinate with illustration library to ensure appropriate illustrations
  • Compare source text properties to technical layout specs
  • Strong relationship to Regulatory with regard to source text questions
  • Work in the network of peers within Amgen worldwide to drive process alignment and improvements
  • Facilitate development of solutions and/or escalate to Artwork Leader
  • Support projects to improve artwork production process
  • Update global artwork SOPs
  • Own and Track artwork Non-conformances and CAPAs

Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of artwork creation, procedures and activities within Artwork center.
  • Ability to relate day-to-day work to business priorities
  • Broad understanding of practices and standards in packaging development and process development environment
  • Understanding of accurate input for artwork design (e.g. correct source text / format)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Science, Business or related experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Science, Business or related experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Science, Business or related experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years in Supply Chain Management, Science, Business or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in a GMP environment
  • Strong change management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Broad range of computer skills
  • Ability to work in a constant changing environment
  • Fluent English, both oral and written communication
  • Understanding of the regulatory / commercialization process for pharma products
  • Experience in ERP (SAP), packaging environment, optimizing internal value chains
  • Knowledge and experience in applying Operational Excellence tools
  • Experience in project work
  • Ability to work in a global environment
