High Level Job Responsibilities
The Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of Amgen's $16B portfolio within the wholesale and pharmacy distribution channels. This role will have frequent interaction and responsibility to Executive Director and Vice President level and potential to interact at the senior most levels within Amgen. They will be responsible for development of strategy and direct negotiations within the distribution chain including both wholesaler and pharmacy as well as oversight account executive team and those dedicated to management of these channels. The Director will also contribute to and drive product-specific distribution strategies, partner with supply chain, serve as expert to brand and market access teams.

Detailed Job Duties
• Own and maintain relationship with key partners within the distribution chain including wholesaler, specialty distribution, GPO, retail pharmacy and specialty pharmacy key partners.
• Ensure process adherence by the team and operations counterparts in implementation of distribution discounts and strategies.
• Work with compendia to pull through new product launches and current portfolio updates.
• Responsible for driving distribution to ensure adequate supply across the US market.
• Ensure accuracy of all financial analytics and business assessments.
• Lead the development and maintenance of distribution strategies for both new product launches as well as existing portfolio.
• Enable team to have a comprehensive understanding of key customer's financials, growth drivers, mergers/acquisitions, end customers, etc.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, OCT, customers, Legal, and SPC teams as necessary to drive Amgen market strategy[.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of ad-hoc requests by senior leadership for product and/or customer related business analytics and strategy.
• Travel up to 25%

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree with 4 years of wholesale trade channel and significant negotiation experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years wholesale trade channel and significant negotiation experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 years wholesale trade channel and significant negotiation experience
AND
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
• Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical compendia
• 8+ years of experience solving complex business problems and managing multiple projects concurrently
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
• Ability to read and understand legal contract documents
• Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and leadership experience
• Strong negotiation skills
• Previous experience providing and delivering information for decision making by executive management
