We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Formulation Development Group at Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. at Tarrytown, NY. The successful candidate will be developing automated formulation development workflow and high throughput analytical methods to support product (including formulation) and process development. The Scientist will lead innovative technology development in the areas of lab automation and data analytics to support broader activities in the organization. The individual will also actively contribute to the formulation and product development of Regeneron's pipeline products through close collaboration with the product development team.


• Leads the development activities for automated formulation development workflow to support the pipeline product development.

• Develops high throughput analytical methods focusing on supporting automated formulation development.

• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in the development of data managing systems for data capture, visualization, analysis and reporting.

• Serves as a project team representative or as a team member to contribute to the product development activities in the formulation development organization.

• Collaborates with colleagues in Formulation Development, Preclinical Development, Automation and Data Science to develop new technologies.

• Documents experiments, results and findings in electronic laboratory notebook; presents work at the group and department meetings; authors and reviews technical reports, regulatory documents and scientific publications.

• Identifies and assesses novel analytical methods and technologies. Contributes to the acquisition of new instrumentation.

• Demonstrates a high degree of responsibility in maintaining scientific standards, and safe laboratory practices.

• Participates in lab and instrument maintenance.

Educational Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry (including mass spectrometry and proteomics), Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering (or related discipline) with 0-2 year of post-doctoral training.


• Expertise either in instrumentation development, automation and high throughput systems (liquid handlers, high throughput instruments, etc.) or in programing for data handling and analytics.

• Solid understanding of data science and analytics. Experience in VB, Python, R or other programming language is preferred.

• Demonstrated track record of problem-solving skills and scientific publications.

• Prior experience with high throughput formulation screening and the supporting analytical methods is a plus.

• Familiar with biophysical techniques (DLS, CD, FTIR, DSC, AUC, Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, etc.), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC) and capillary electrophoresis (CE) for protein characterization.

• Excellent organization and communication skills.

• Enthusiasm in science with a motivation for making contributions in a team environment is necessary.
