Reporting to the Rinvoq Global Marketing Director, this position supports the development and execution of the marketing strategies and tactics at the Global, Areas, and Country-Affiliate level. Collaborates and engages with a cross functional team, which includes (but not limited to): market access, medical affairs, finance, regulatory, legal, supply operations, health economics, clinical development, R&D, public affairs, medical and regulatory review, patient relations, business insights, OEC, and sales training. This position will preferably be located in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Generating marketing insights that inform strategic and tactical plans
  • Creating or identifying commercial opportunities that advance efforts towards the brand objectives and goals
  • Creating and driving multi-stakeholder initiatives within the overall brand strategy, as well as setting direction for global execution
  • Developing marketing tools/resources to optimize impact and advancing them efficiently through the formal approval process
  • Support affiliates in the context of launch excellence through innovative and impactful strategies & tactics
  • Managing budgets and maximizing resources
  • Lead marketing activities like segmentation/targeting/positioning, promotional materials/tactics, advertising, promotion, and medical education projects within assigned budget.
  • Work productively with agencies to ensure quality output within established timelines and budgets
  • Contribute to AbbVie's leadership position in Rheumatology
  • Project management & working with vendors and other agencies

Basic Experience:
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing, experience in Immunology a plus
  • Competency of the current medical and regulatory approval process
  • Proven track record of effectively working in cross-functional teams and matrix environments
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills: fluent in English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able and willing to travel internationally as needed

Preferred Experience (in addition to Basic):
  • MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • Global and/or Affiliate/Country experience
