The Senior Manager of Contracts and Pricing is a key member of the Contracts & Pricing Operations (CPO) function within Strategic Pricing & Contracting (SPC) and is responsible for the Channel and Chargebacks operations team.

The Channel and Chargebacks team is responsible for validating, processing and analyzing data from Amgen's Authorized Wholesalers, disputing and resolving data discrepancies, reporting on key EDI data sets for internal customers, assessing contract performance and calculating wholesaler fees and adhering to Amgen's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting requirements. The senior manager will foster strong relationships with wholesalers, vendors and internal customers. He or She will transform business processes while driving the team to develop and implement a new contract and pricing platform. The team is also responsible for SPC product launch project management and Compendia updates and communications.

This position will be responsible for leading a team of managers and analysts dedicated to the Wholesaler space and will guide the team through the evolving landscape to ensure Amgen's success in the Commercial Healthcare Market.

Responsibilities include:
  • Partner with SPC leaders, IS Business Analysts and others to assess and influence discount design to ensure operational feasibility within the contracts and pricing system and determine impact to existing resources or business processes
  • Manage ongoing relationship with external vendors to define capabilities required for data collection and integration with Amgen applications
  • Primary point of contact for Wholesaler partners regarding Channel data, Channel Fees, Chargebacks and Product Launch operations
  • Document processes to support the maintenance of contracting strategies and provide leadership with impact analysis summarizing resourcing needs and timing of key activities
  • Maintain policies, risks and controls associated with Amgen's Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements and other reporting and certification requirements
  • Provide recommendations for application enhancements or the use of other tools to improve processes and support contracting strategies
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with SPC team, IS, Pricing, Trade Operations, Accounting/Finance, Compliance, internal legal counsel, other cross-functional groups and external stakeholders and suppliers that interact with the Channel and Chargebacks team
  • Design holistic solutions to anticipate and address stakeholder needs based on organizational strategy and vision
  • Drive the development of innovative solutions and processes including the development of new approaches for projects, applications and department service offerings
  • Coach, motivate and provide career and technical advice to direct reports and others in the department
  • Execute special projects and assignments


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Contracts and Pricing Operations experience, OR, Sales and Marketing experience, OR Project Management experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Contracts and Pricing Operations experience, OR, Sales and Marketing experience, OR Project Management experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Contracts and Pricing Operations experience, OR, Sales and Marketing experience, OR Project Management experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Contracts and Pricing Operations experience, OR, Sales and Marketing experience, OR Project Management experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years Contracts and Pricing Operations experience, OR, Sales and Marketing experience, OR Project Management experience

AND

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Wholesaler experience or experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment with emphasis in Contract Operations
  • Understands subject matter of Contracts and Pricing Operations within the Wholesaler landscape on an expert level
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and leadership experience
  • Advanced computer & system operations skills
  • Ability to develop reports and analytical tools to measure performance of commercial contracts utilizing tools like Tableau, Alteryx and Salesforce
  • Ability to develop and deliver formal presentations to senior leadership, vendors or wholesaler partners including translating complex data and processes into succinct executive summaries
  • Proven ability to execute and communicate effectively in a highly fluid, interactive, matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous, complex projects to completion.
  • Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses
  • High attention to detail/reporting accuracy, balances strong detail orientation with the ability to conceptualize problems
