Vice President, Commercial Data & Analytics

This Vice President will establish the vision and strategy for Amgen's Commercial Data & Analytics capability and is accountable for delivering high-value insights that drive business strategy. This position will oversee core Commercial Data & Analytics (GCO D&A) capabilities including forecasting, research and analytics, and data science and will be responsible for building Amgen's Data & Analytics capabilities of the future. This position also will represent the Commercial organization's data and analytics needs and perspectives to the broader Amgen data/analytics community and will contribute to establishing and driving Amgen's overall data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and execute core data & analytics strategy for Commercial with input from key stakeholders across the business including senior leaders across geographies and functions
• Liaise with senior leadership to influence and inform the use of data & analytics to answer the highest-value strategic business questions across the Commercial organization
• Primary point of contact for senior leaders across the business for GCO D&A activities
• Drive maximum value from advanced analytics including sourcing and prioritizing across innovative projects and obtaining project sponsorship from Commercial leaders
• Provide thought leadership that will align data & analytics to the business and expand the organization's thinking on what is possible with data
• Ensure quality of data & analytics deliverables
• Focus teams on delivering insights that inform business strategy, drive efficiency and productivity
• Manage allocation of data & analytics resources
• Ensure resources are flexed in accordance with business needs
• Build data & analytics as a differentiated capability for Amgen including: implement new initiatives and tools, attract and develop industry-leading data & analytics talent and establish clear career paths within GCO D&A and across the broader Commercial and D&A communities

Basic Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree and 8 years of experience in Commercial biopharma OR
• Master's degree and 12 years of experience in Commercial biopharma OR
• Bachelor's degree and 14 years of experience in Commercial biopharma AND
• 8 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, brands, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of demonstrated senior leadership experience in core areas of Commercial data & analytics i.e. forecasting, commercial analytics, market research, and/or competitive intelligence
• Executive presence by which one can quickly establish credibility with and influence C-level staff
• Leadership experience building and developing high performing teams, delivering results and shaping the future of the Commercial organization
• Business acumen that lends itself to understanding the markets, brands and broader context of the Commercial organization
• Thought-leader with an ambitious vision for the innovation and use of data & analytics
• Partners with business leaders to shape Commercial strategy
• Manages senior stakeholders, prioritizes across multiple responsibilities and allocates resources to drive maximum impact
• Collaborates with leaders cross functionally to create value for the business
• Thinks strategically about issues impacting an entire portfolio of therapeutics across geographies and stages of development
• Discovers new areas of opportunity that can add value and be captured with advanced analytics
• Develops innovative analytics projects throughout their life cycle from ideation through test-and-learn to operationalization and scale
