Job Details
The Associate IS Software Engineer role will be responsible for implementing solutions to support Amgen's enterprise analytics strategy. This position will be part of the Enterprise Engineering and Analytics group and will be based at Thousand Oaks, CA. The successful candidate will have experience in web application development technologies and public cloud development experience using AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
Responsibilities:
- This role requires programming and application of software design techniques
- Requirements analysis, design, development, testing and releases for various enterprise applications.
- Responsible for producing product feature design documentation and specifications.
- Research, recommend and communicate emerging technologies to solve product problems.
- Troubleshoot applications and quickly solve production issues.
- Partner with IS and business stakeholders to ensure that the product is an appropriate fit for the end users.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
OR
Associate degree plus 4 years of related experience
OR
High School / GED plus 6 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in final year of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or related field
- Scheduled to graduate no later than summer 2020
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 in current program
- Previous Amgen internship or co-op experience
- Experience in Java and Python programming
- Experience using Spring Boot
- Familiar with Solr, React.JS, JavaScript
- Familiar with machine learning techniques
• Experience using Linux/Unix
