Amgen is looking for a Director of Digital Supply Chain and Innovation to help advance our digital strategy. This individual will have to gain a solid understanding of our technology blueprint as well as evolve our Digital road map. Also, this person will drive innovation, operational excellence for Global Supply Chain interacting with global stakeholders. This position will be responsible for implementing best practices, ensuring cross-functional alignment and participate in the sustainment and deployment of key technology platforms from a Supply Chain perspective.

Job Responsibilities:

Management
  • Adapting and thriving in a changing environment while building and structuring a high-preforming cross-functional team of analytical, technical and operational experts that support Global Supply Chain's operational and digital needs.
  • Manages department/project budget, integrated resource planning and priority lists.
  • Coordinates, facilitates and communicates overall departmental dashboards updates
  • Contributes to the development of System and Automation Governance processes, procedures and standards
  • Manages the identification, analysis, valuation and execution of system and automation investments for project delivery and support operations; manages the execution of technology roadmaps for Global Supply Chain
  • Collaborates across Regions and Sites to ensure their requirements are met and that the digital road map is fit-for-purpose

Digital Supply Chain and Operational Excellence
  • Gains a solid understanding of our technology blueprint and maintains Global Supply Chain Digital road map
  • Drives Innovation, Operational Excellence, project management and change management in the organization
  • Defines, measures and reports key performance indicators for assigned projects, enabling teams and functions to measure and improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Influences decision making through a fact-based approach to ensure business partners meet the financial and operational objectives.
  • Implementing best practices and ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • Uses advanced system and automation models to develop and communicate business alternatives and identify and drive scalable solutions to solve business problems.
  • Applies benchmarking strategies to ensure Amgen's SC stays current with peers in the industry and outside. Also enables sharing of knowledge and best practices in the across the organization.

Accountabilities:
  • An experienced Leader with strong depth in Digital Supply Chain knowledge and trends and Operational Excellence mindset
  • Strategic and Goal oriented focus to drive operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Creates a repeatable and ever improving process to take developed business opportunities and turn them into revenue generating, cost reducing, or quality improving operations
  • Responsible for the leadership of the Digital Supply Chain team covering operational day-to-day work, projects and operational excellence
  • Improves Reliable, Efficient, Agile and Differentiation by improving capabilities (people, process, technology)

Authorities:
  • Develops and support business cases for governance approval of projects within Global Supply Chain, and act as an expert, advisor, mentor and coach for the area of discipline.
  • Applies advanced Operational Excellence & Leadership Skills and experience in delivering scale, improvements and projects on time, within budget and with high customer satisfaction
  • Influences a broad spectrum of stakeholders toward achieving business goals.
  • Budget accountable for departmental and project budgets

Output:
  • Strong team with excellent capabilities
  • Successful road map implementations; on time, within budget and with high customer satisfaction
  • Contributes to revenue generating, cost reducing and quality improving operations
  • Brings comprehensive Digital input that supports (strategic) projects and decision making while fostering executive level relationships
  • Ability to liaise/communicate effectively and easily with cross-functional teams and different cultures
  • Ability to simplify a complex message and rationale
  • Good understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical regulations
  • LSS Green or black belt
  • SCOR-P certified

Travel:
  • Up to 30% International and Domestic travel required


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Supply Chain Management experience

OR

Master's degree and 7 years of Supply Chain Management experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 9 years of Supply Chain Management experience

AND 4+ years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership, experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing of allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Supply Chain and Operational Excellence experience in regulated industry
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in business process re-engineering and developing and implementing technology solutions
  • Experience in working in a global environment, ability to liaise/communicate effectively at different management levels
  • Ability to liaise/communicate effectively and easily with cross-functional teams and different cultures
  • Fluency in English; excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels
  • Instinctual critical thinking and a strong business and strategic acumen
  • Excellent people management skills, natural leader with ability to motivate and develop a diverse group of individuals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, active listening, and relationship management skills
  • Experience critically evaluating process and establishing creative solutions
  • Quick learner, proactive, takes initiative, goal oriented and results driven
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present information
  • Ability to simplify a complex message and rationale
  • Good understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical regulations
  • LSS Green or black belt
  • SCOR-P certified
