Amgen is seeking an Associate IS Engineer - Data Engineer who will work on our Enterprise Engineering and Analytics (EEA) team in our Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. The Associate Engineer is responsible for building the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) platform at Amgen, and developing pipelines to load and transform data within the Enterprise Data Lake.

Job Duties
  • Work as a member of a Data Engineering team that uses Cloud and Big Data technologies to design, develop and implement solutions to support various functional areas like Manufacturing, Commercial, Research and Development.
  • Development of platforms capable of enabling data transformation, advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, predictive modeling and artificial intelligence capabilities across Amgen.
  • Work closely with the EDL delivery and platform teams to ensure that the applications are aligned with the overall architectural and development guidelines
  • Research and evaluate technical solutions including AWS Services, NoSQL databases, Data Science packages, platforms and tools with a focus on enterprise deployment capabilities like security, scalability, reliability, maintainability, etc
  • Travel: International and / or domestic travel up to 5% may be essential

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

OR

Associate degree plus 4 years of related experience

OR

High School / GED plus 6 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in final year of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Accounting, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Health Administration or related field
  • Scheduled to graduate no later than summer 2020
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in current program
  • Previous Amgen internship or co-op experience
