The Director, Commercial Cell Therapy Support Program Operations will have the overall responsibility of Kite KonnectTM and the day to day oversight of patient and customer support programs. Kite KonnectTM is Kite's proprietary patient and case management platform. It is designed to optimize the delivery of cell therapy for each individual patient and to provide a positive, personalized customer experience, through both a dedicated support team and support system. This position reports to the VP, Commercial Operations, and is based in Santa Monica, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as an internal/external point-of-contact for relevant issues, questions or other matters related to Kite KonnectTM and other patient and customer support programs
  • Maintain oversight of cell therapy commercial logistics execution and continually assess the process to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with all commercial functions including Account Management, Marketing, Market Access and Customer Engagement to facilitate solutions for account and patient related issues
  • Develop and maintain cross functional partnerships with internal departments including but not limited to Manufacturing/Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Logistics, Clinical Development and Operations, Medical Affairs, Legal and Finance to manage the logistical coordination of the patient cell journey starting with patient enrollment through final product delivery
  • Work closely with Regulatory, Legal and other partners/stakeholders to ensure fully compliant practices, policies & procedures
  • Selecting and manage third party vendors responsible for the delivery of support programs
  • Work closely with the Finance team to track program costs and forecast operational expenses. Reconcile vendor invoices with contractual terms to ensure appropriate expense tracking
  • Coordinate the process required for accounts to become authorized treatment centers including scheduling and execution of dry runs, ensuring completion of all business requirements, setting up internal systems, and activation of new accounts in Kite KonnectTM
  • Liaise with the REMS team to assist with addressing any REMS associated situations
  • Serve as the Commercial representative on PDE calls and coordinate with Clinical and Medical affairs teams to address issues as necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures to cover the operations and policies of Kite KonnectTM and support programs. Through auditing and oversight, ensure operations are consistent with documented procedures
  • Lead presentations and develop materials for internal training of commercial teams on both a routine basis and upon request
  • Motivate and retain a dedicated team of customer support professionals. Hire, manage and develop direct reports
  • Lead, sponsor or participate in initiatives from small to large-scale, highly complex company critical projects

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree. MBA or other related graduate-level degree is a plus
  • 10 or more years of work experience in pharma/biotech with relevant experience in customer service/patient support programs and platforms
  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical market, its customers, and reimbursement environment is required. Previous experience in oncology/hematology highly preferred
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to problem solve and lead solution implementation
  • Willingness and ability to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to have crucial conversations with all stakeholders, internal and external, and partner for solutions
  • Sustained track record of achievement informally leading cross functional teams. Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong team, including external partners, relationships while driving for positive results
  • Familiarity and knowledge of IT applications such as SalesForce and Oracle EBS are desirable
  • Limited travel required
