REGIONAL PATIENT NAVIGATOR LEAD - East Coast

Position Summary:

Global Blood Therapeutics is seeking an experienced leader to recruit and hire a team of Sickle Cell Patient Navigators who will interface with patients once prescribed voxelotor, their caregivers, and healthcare providers (HCPs), to facilitate seamless access to voxelotor. The Regional Patient Navigator Associate Director, will report to the Director, Patient Support and will provide leadership and strategic direction to Sickle Cell Patient Navigators to achieve performance objectives. This is accomplished through effective coaching, mentoring of the team, utilization of resources and strong collaboration internally and externally. Other responsibilities include building comprehensive training and strategic business plans, including specific, measurable, action-oriented objectives in accordance with national and regional goals. This exciting role provides the opportunity to build a best in class Patient Navigator team with responsibility for supporting the anticipated launch of voxelotor.

This regional position can be managed anywhere along the East Coast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, train, manage and develop Patient Navigators
  • Coach Patient Navigators in all aspects of job performance and ensure training and development of Patient Navigators in their region
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, objectives and metrics for team members consistent with Region and Nation
  • Serve as a role model for compliant behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of GBT
  • Develop and adhere to assigned region operational budget
  • Provide ongoing assessment and feedback of Patient Navigators
  • Participate in development and implementation of national and regional strategy and tactics
  • Establish and maintain effective regional communications
  • Plan and execute Regional Meetings
  • Ensures compliance with all corporate and industry policies in collaboration with GBT Legal, Regulatory and Compliance
  • Ensures coordination with Field Sales and Market Access & Reimbursement while maintaining appropriate levels of Protected Heath Information as needed
  • Work with our Patient Support Program hub vendor and Specialty Pharmacies for seamless execution of GBT objectives, and troubleshoots issues as necessary
  • Perform the role of the Patient Navigator if there is a regional deficiency

Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in patient support and/or reimbursement
  • Specialty therapy experienced preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' pharmaceutical or biotech field management experience
  • Experience in case management review, utilization review, social service support, insurance reimbursement, and patient advocacy a plus
  • Knowledge of private payer, Medicare, and Medicaid structure, systems, and reimbursement process
  • Previous experience in new product launches/indications a plus
  • Proven successful track record of consistent high performance
  • Strong leadership, planning and organization, analytics, business acumen, decision making and problem- solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute on plan
  • Proven leadership skills/high level of accountability
  • Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Adherence to GBT's high ethical standards
  • Travel required; Up to 60% travel and driving is an essential duty of the job; candidates must have a valid driver's license to be considered
