The Product Lead will be part of the Oncology Partnership team and is responsible for management and on-time and on-budget execution of the AMG 510 external program deliverables across four CMO sites. This role will provide a single point of contact and accountability across Drug Substance, Drug Product, Analytics, and Packaging disciplines. The successful candidate will lead joint governance forums with each CMO and be a core member on the respective PDT representing contract manufacturing. The Product Lead is accountable for budget adherence and is expected to partner closely with key stakeholders to set strategy and deliverables, ensure the early identification and communication of risks and lead the development of solutions to critical project and business issues to deliver overall program success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program delivery through strong leadership of cross-functional and joint company teams
  • Establish effective governance structure and escalation pathway with each CMO
  • Ongoing external relationship management aligned with SRE, including development and reporting of metrics and monitoring performance to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of CMOs
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with all key stakeholder functions to increase overall effectiveness and success of program
  • Continuously track and communicate progress and adherence to program objectives and deliverables; Ensure program(s) meets compliance, quality, speed, resource, and cost targets
  • Identification of project opportunities to drive business efficiencies and/or increase speed to patients
  • Creation of holistic business cases considering strategic, financial, and risk tradeoffs and presentation of analyses and recommendations to senior management
  • This position will require occasional domestic and international travel


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of manufacturing, operations, or packaging experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years of manufacturing, operations, or packaging experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of manufacturing, operations, or packaging experience
AND
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong technical understanding and background in commercialization of small molecules
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and joint company teams
  • Able to excel in a matrixed organization, and possess strategic thinking and sound project management skills
  • Ability to foster collaboration, work effectively on cross-functional teams and consistently deliver on-time while serving as a role model for Amgen values and leadership attributes
  • Amgen financial acumen and ability to interpret and communicate financial information
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and executive presence
  • Models good DAI behaviors and reinforces proper decision making according to DAI framework
