Job Summary

This role will support Amgen's Sourcing and Contract Organization within Global Business Services. The Sr. Associate Contract Management is responsible for ensuring that supplier contracts maintain compliance to expected terms and conditions and are appropriately managed throughout the contract lifecycle. Additionally, the Sr. Associate Contract Management role will engage in light levels of contracting to support lower dollar purchasing contract creation. This position will play an integral role in maintaining the expected value from Amgen's supplier contracts in support of the Source to Pay transformation currently underway. They will interact with key stakeholders across Amgen, including internal and external customers.

As a Sr. Associate Contract Management, you will report to the Sourcing Excellence Senior Manager based at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consults with Legal to ensure compliance with all Amgen requirements and Legal statutes
  • Oversees the compliance to assigned contracts to ensure the expected terms and conditions are applied
  • Provides contract compliance feedback to business stakeholders through reporting or discussions
  • Escalates compliance issues to contract owners
  • Negotiates contract terms and conditions for supplier agreements of all types
  • Communicates and facilitates contract addendums, clauses and change orders
  • Determines renewals and addendums required
  • Engages with contract owners to resolve supplier issues, disputes or claims
  • Provides contract analysis and feedback to Category Managers and stakeholders
  • Manages forecasting and accrual budget submissions to Finance for key IS supplier agreements
  • Engages with contract owners and procurement to support PO management for key IS supplier agreements
  • Calculates performance credits for key IS supplier agreements
  • Facilitates contract compliance audits, as required, to ensure proper compliance to negotiated terms and conditions
  • Works with Tactical Buyers, Contract Administrators and stakeholders to ensure the proper contract clauses are in place to support the deployment of contracts into the P2P system
  • Coordinates the close out of contracts
  • Provides discipline and adherence to established policies and procedures in contract termination proceedings
    Basic Qualifications

    Master's degree

    OR

    Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Sourcing or Finance experience

    OR

    Associate's degree and 6 years of Souring or Finance experience

    OR

    High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Sourcing or Finance experience

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in, business, or any other highly quantitative discipline
  • 4+ years' experience in Sourcing or Procure to Pay processes
  • Experience working for a Global corporation
  • Experience in the contracting process
  • Experience in creating contracts and aligning to Legal templates and requirements
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Experience in overseeing negotiations with suppliers
  • Ability to take initiative and work under light supervision
