This position reports to the Oncology Regional Medical Liaisons Therapeutic Area (TA) Lead and is based in the Thousand Oaks office. National oversight of Oncology in-line and pipeline products, under the direction of the Oncology RML TA Lead will be the major job responsibility. Utilizing functional subject matter expertise and product knowledge, the Sr. Manager will closely partner with the Oncology TA lead to advance organizational strategies and goals.

Specific details include (but are not limited to):

Lead and participate in cross-functional team efforts with the Oncology products US Medical Teams,Oncology Team Regional RML Field Directors, Medical Communications, Marketing, and Scientific Affairs Training and Development.

Lead cross-departmental team to interface with ALIGN and to ensure RML alignment with other teams.

Lead field input team to drive training strategies and obtain resources in collaboration with Scientific Affairs Training and Development & Medical Communications teams for Oncology products, and pipeline molecules

Assist in providing required reports to US Medical Leads, Oncology Team Directors, Brand Directors and RML Department senior staff documenting quantitative and qualitative metrics.

Influence the analysis, design, and construction of implementation plans of overall objectives and long-range goals for the Oncology TA RML department, and pipeline molecules

Liaise with Brand Teams and Oncology RML TA Lead to analyze, identify, devise and implement RML-specific strategies and tactics

Liaise with the RML management team to insure proper development and utilization of the field RML resources

May lead administrative departmental activities such as budgets, resources, and staffing needs for specified Oncology RMLs

Liaise with cross functional teams to guide RML support for Real World Evidence and quality improvement opportunities with key oncology customers (e.g., IDNs) and health systems

Under direction of Oncology RML TA Lead, set strategic role for RMLs at Congresses/Medical Meetings pertinent to Oncology products, and pipeline molecules

Conduct briefings for senior management

Assist in determining and establishing organizational structures and supervisory relationships to meet future needs

May represent the department or Amgen as a primary internal and external contact

May assist in the customization of the RML website to ensure ready access to RML resources that maximize RML efficiency

Oversee and conduct projects with vendors to develop Opinion Leader (OL) identification lists and to help modify current OL lists.

Develop and coach team to meet their goals and development objectives

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D, M.D. or Pharm.D., D.O. in a medical field.

Three plus years of clinical experience

Two plus years of experience leading/managing project teams

Two years proven track record of success in pharmaceutical industry Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) Previous clinical experience prior to industry highly preferred
