Amgen is searching for a Sr. Associate to function as a member of a parenteral drug product and aseptic fill finish process development team. This role will be based on our main campus in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Sr. Associate is responsible for assisting in the deployment and integration of information system (IS) technologies for drug product process development operations as the organization advances its digital landscape. Such information system and management technologies include:

Product lifecycle management software

Electronic lab notebook software

Data integration/analysis software using big data technology

This role provides development opportunities in the following areas:

Dynamic, matrixed organization and collaboration - the Sr. Associate interfaces with a broad array of partners on a routine basis, providing visibility to those other areas of the business and how these functions work together to meet organizational goals.

Operational efficiency and business skills application - this role provides an opportunity to apply core technical skills to Amgen's process development operations.

Data integration development - accessing and providing visibility to electronic data to drive business improvement and productivity. This aspect of the role would be collaborating with partner functions to enable new ways of data presentation across the process development organization

In this role, the Sr Associate also:

Serves as a liaison between the process development business community and the IS organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet end user needs of scientists and engineers.

Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.

Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new IS technology deployment.

Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the process development organization and manages changes to such specifications.

Use knowledge of technological trends to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.

Serves as an integration lead to foster adoption of IS technologies by the process development organization including the creation of training materials and instructional courses.

Provides hypercare support to staff in the process development organization as it relates to using IS software and technologies.

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Scientific or Operations experience

OR

Associate degree and 6 years of Scientific or Operations experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Scientific or Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications

Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IS organization's systems and capabilities

Experience in a role that requires influencing cross functional groups to achieve results

Experience with MiniTab, JMP, Tibco Spotfire, or other data analysis software

Experience with big data technology such as Amazon Cloud Services

Experience with product life-cycle management software such as Oracle Agile

Highly proficient in presentation skills and the ability to draft training documents
