Our scientists will focus on novel targets and pathways for tumors that are refractory to current Immuno-Oncology therapies. These are significant challenges that will require innovative solutions from the biopharma, biotech and academic communities.

Role / Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented research scientist to join our Translational Research group in our new state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Kendall Square. This position will provide an opportunity to identify and validate predictive biofluids-based biomarkers of response to immunotherapy. The qualified candidate is an enthusiastic, interactive, and creative individual who has experience in biomarker discovery, correlative studies, and/or companion diagnostics development. The candidate will help in the design, investigate, and execute plans to discover or characterize biomarkers and companion diagnostics development that relate to therapeutic response. This is a laboratory-based position, which will focus on characterizing biological fluids-associated biomarkers and correlating back with clinical information. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a strong background in multiplex qPCR/RT-PCR-ddPCR assay development, and molecular diagnostics in general. The ideal candidate will have proven development success of robust diagnostic tests, be highly independent, organized, and have excellent communication skills. In addition, familiarity of various nucleic acid testing platforms and technology landscape, especially techniques in ultra-sensitive detection of nucleic acids, and prior experience working with human biofluids is required. A background in biomarker research, working with clinical samples, and oncology target development and validation is a plus. Qualifications / Essential Skills

BS with 5-7 years or MS with 3-5 years of post-graduate experience in an academic or industrial setting

Prior experience in Immunology, Biomarkers or Translational Oncology, exploratory immune biomarker discovery is required. Strong proficiency in managing workflows, deadlines and managing multiple projects.

Experience in development of biomarker that interrogate response status prior, during or after treatment to evaluate patient populations that may be more responsive both at the tumor site and systemically with liquid biopsies.

Familiarity with laboratory inventory management system

Prior experience working with cell lines and primary human tissue samples; experience working with blood and blood products is plus

Prior biomarker experience, working with clinical samples, and oncology target development and validation is a plus

Academic background in molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, genetics, and/or immunology is required

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, written and orally, within the team and larger organization
