Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic protein biochemist at a Research Investigator/Senior Research investigator level to join the Protein Engineering group. The candidate will be expected to lead a variety of efforts to design and generate membrane proteins, identify and implement novel methodologies to enhance membrane protein expression, purification, and functional characterization. The candidate would also be expected to work on a variety of protein engineering projects to optimize and generate differentiated antibody therapeutic leads.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Scientifically champion efforts to design and generate protein antigens with a focus on membrane proteins
  • Identify and implement methodologies to enhance membrane and soluble protein generation
  • Engineer variable and constant domains of antibodies to generate novel therapeutic leads
  • Elucidate mechanistic understanding of targets and work to progress targets through pipeline
  • Generate materials for therapeutic program immunizations and antibody screening
  • Interface with project leads, antibody generation and translational teams
  • Independently perform complex experiments with strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Excellent written and oral skills are necessary


Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, cell biology, structural Biology, or similar fields with more than 3 years of post Ph.D. experience
  • Extensive experience in generation and characterization of membrane proteins such as GPCRs
  • Expertise in in molecular biology, protein expression, purification, and functional characterization
  • Experience in display technologies (yeast, phage, mammalian systems)a plus
  • Familiarity with immunology and immune-oncology is desirable
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary biologics discovery team
