Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate IS Engineer - Collaboration to join Amgen Information Systems (IS), working in the Collaboration Team within Digital Workplace Experience (DWX) office supporting Office 365 and other collaboration applications. In this key role, you will work with the team responsible for deploying and supporting Office 365 and other related technologies. You will be working on high visibility projects and play a key role to delivering on IS initiatives and automating business processes. You will need to establish and maintain a positive business relationship with users and other stakeholders of the service and will participate in and/or facilitate cross-functional team meetings to discuss and drive the use of the services and help drive the identification and application of new collaboration tools at Amgen as a champion of collaboration technology.

The IS Senior Associate will report to the Senior Manager, Information Systems based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

DWX is responsible for the design, development, delivery, governance, and life cycle of Amgen's messaging and collaboration technologies. The team consists of cross-disciplinary IS professionals who understand how to deliver services that span both infrastructure and applications.

Key Activities for the Senior Associate IS Engineer include:
  • Implement solutions for internal clients based on functional specification
  • Implement new features and applications in support of collaboration
  • Interact with Amgen's Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Records and Information Management teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized to protect Amgen's information
  • Perform hands-on technical content development work and deliver readiness training and speaking at employee training events
  • Interact with Vendors to understand and develop joint roadmaps/strategies
  • Constantly assess new technology capabilities as they present themselves in the market
  • Contribute to longer-range architecture, strategy and direction for enterprise collaboration
  • Independently resolve complex, break-fix issues and identify and correct complex system issues
  • Own issues to completion

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree


Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems and/or Unified Communication experience


Associate degree and 6 years of Information Systems and/or Unified Communication experience


High school diploma/GED and 8 years of Information Systems and/or Unified Communication experience

Preferred Qualifications

Technical background and in depth, hands-on delivery experience with the following technologies:
  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Graph API
  • Azure AD
  • Microsoft Licensing Structures
  • Automation
  • ActiveSync
  • Powershell/Scripting
  • SCRUM or other Agile experience
  • Experience with SCRUM Projects, and GIT
  • Experience with .Net Core, Visual Studio Code, SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and associated technologies such as Angular, React, TypeScript etc..
  • Experience with modern web standards and technologies (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3,
  • JavaScript, JQuery, cloud APIs)
  • Experience with organizational adoption of cloud services (on-premises cloud migration) and working with end users and evangelizing Office 365 services
  • Experience extending on-premises directory services to Office 365 with strong infrastructure acumen, including cross-domain knowledge and preferably career experience in a technical infrastructure role
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies and how other enterprises are employing them
  • Experience interacting with vendors to understand and develop joint roadmaps/strategies
  • Experience managing third-party organizations responsible for the operational support of the service
  • Demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management
  • Automation experience, preferably in a development environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to perform detail-oriented work
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, work planning, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate proactively with others
  • Attention to detail and experimental/troubleshooting aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to identify business patterns used for collaboration and translate the patterns into standardized solutions
  • Strong background delivering emerging technologies, mitigating risk and delivering innovation
  • Proven ability to move products from Demo and Proof of Concept to Pilot and Production quickly
