Job Details

Amgen's Global Health Economics organization is seeking a Health Economics Manager to join the Economic Modeling Center of Excellence (COE). The Economic Modeling COE works in cross-functional teams developing and supporting product value strategy focusing on evidence-based economic modeling throughout the product lifecycle. The activities of the Economic Modeling COE include early modeling for strategic input to development design, pricing strategy, core models and local model adaptations for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and price and reimbursement submissions, as well as tools supporting field-based key account value communication.

The successful candidate will report to the Mature and Late Phase Oncology lead in the Economic Modeling COE, and will be based at Amgen's headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting core cost-effectiveness, budget impact models and account calculator development and adaptations to address local requirements, in collaboration with cross-functional local, regional and global teams.

Developing the economic sections of HTA dossier submissions.

Providing input to Value Story development and updates.

Providing input to design and interpretation of evidence generation studies.

Interpreting clinical studies results and plan additional statistical analyses needed for core models and local model adaptations, including indirect treatment comparisons.

Presenting, discussing and re-analyzing model results, with a focus on the US-market needs.

Supporting timely and effective communication to HTA and reimbursement authorities.

Supporting publications of core global and local economic models.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree or currently enrolled in PhD program and must complete all requirements necessary to obtain PhD prior to employment start date

OR

Master's Degree and 3 years of health economics and outcomes research experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of health economics and outcomes research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

MSc or PhD in Health Economics with a background in economics or in a quantitative field (such as statistics/biostatistics, epidemiology or engineering).

Experience in global health economics and outcomes research including US dossier submissions for coverage and reimbursement.

Experience developing pharmacoeconomic models.

Experience working with consumers of outcomes information

Knowledge of epidemiology, economics, psychometrics and medical writing

Master and 3+ years, or PhD with relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy, academia or reimbursement agencies.

Previous experience in oncology.

Experience in developing core and local adaptations of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models.

Statistical skills, in particular knowledge of advanced survival analyses.

Strong Excel skills and experience using Visual Basic, and software such as TreeAge Pro, R, SAS, Stata or

WinBUGS for model development and data analysis.

Strong analytical and project management skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
